Although many people associate the best technological breakthroughs with men, there are in fact some women who have made their mark on science, picking up quite a few awards on the way.

One of the most famous female scientists of all time has to be Marie Curie, who won the Nobel Prize for both physics and chemistry in the early twentieth century and was a pioneer of radioactivity.
